A closer look at our family

Karen Brown Guides
The Hotel Pasquale was named after Marco Pasini's maternal grandfather, Pasquale, who was born in the Lake Como area. During World War II he was stationed in Monterosso al Mare where he fell in love and married a charming young girl, Fortunata, and never returned to northern Italy. Instead, after the war, they openend a tiny restaurant and later added guestrooms, a simple enterprise which was grown so that now the family owns two hotels. Marco Pasini and his mother Felicita manage the Hotel Pasquale and his brother, Matteo, manages the Villa Steno. Both hotels offer clean, simple, appealing rooms, great service, and loving attention to guests. There is no private parking at the Hotel Pasquale and the bedrooms are slightly smaller than those at the Villa Steno, but every bedroom has a great bonus: a view of the sea. Also, each of the bedrooms has a nice bathroom with an enclosed shower. Like so many hotels that we most highly recommend, the Hotel Pasquale is a family operation run with great heart, with grandmother Fortunata still working wherever she's needed and Marco's hard-working mother, Felicita, often on duty at the front desk. Marco's father is also an integral part of the operation and guests eagerly look forward to the excellent pastries he bakes fresh each morning.

Frommer's Italy
This small hotel sits right by the beach, offering both intimacy and privacy because its small number of guest rooms are spread out across four floors. It's modern and has been decorated like a private Genoavan home. Bedrooms are small but still comfortable, each furnished with a tiled bathroom. The bar/restaurant is reminiscent of an italian coffee shop, with gleaming marble floors, glass cases, dark wood wainscoting, window frames, and a service counter accented with a brass rail and foot guard.
Rick Steve's Italy
Albergo Pasquale is a modern, comfortable place, run by the same family who owns Hotel Villa Steno. It's just few steps from the beach, boat dock, tunnel entrance (to new town), and train tracks. The air conditioning minimizes any train noise.
